The Philippine Trade Training Center – Global MSME Academy has partnered with the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (Phils.) Inc. (MMCI) to promote Halal’s various sectors and assist MSMEs in their journey to become Halal-trained or certified.

In his Keynote Speech, DTI Trade Promotions Group Undersecretary Abdulgani Macatoman acknowledged the huge presence of Halal in the global market, making it as one of the fastest growing industries in the world. DTI had also taken initiatives to further promote Halal. Usec. Macatoman said, “The DTI, together with members of the Halal Export Board, had successfully launched the strategic framework for the Phil. Halal Export and Development Promotion for 2018 – 2022 with the ultimate goal of increasing Phil. exports of halal-certified products, processes, and services, and hopefully establish the name of Phil. Free seminars on Halal Certification Requirements, Halal Tourism, Islamic Banking & Finance, and Business Opportunities in Halal were offered to MSMEs, highlighting the Food & Beverage, Services, and Lifestyle sectors of the industry.
One of the highlights of this 3-day event was the Halal Slaughtering Training delivered by Mr. Mohd Amri Abdullah of JAKIM, the agency responsible for the Islamic affairs including Halal Certification in Malaysia.
