PTTC-GMEA, MCCI ink PH Halal Ecosystem MOA

The Philippine Trade Training Center – Global MSME Academy (PTTC-GMEA) and Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement at the PTTC on November 12 in an effort to promote PH Halal Industry through the upcoming PH Halal Ecosystem: Clinching the Momentum thru Capacity Building.
PH Halal Ecosystem is ultimately envisioned to translate Philippine Halal Export Development and Promotion Program, a “comprehensive set of objectives, targets, strategies and activities for the growth of Halal industries producing or providing products, processes and services and resulting to increased exports of Halal product” of RA 10817 (Philippine Halal Export Development and Promotion Act) into action.
As the Training Arm of the Chair of the Philippine Halal Export Development and Promotion Board (DTI), PTTC-GMEA, in collaboration with MCCI, takes this event as a great opportunity to help the MSMEs become Halal-friendly or certified.
Coming here in the Philippines is an International Resource Person from JAKIM, Malaysian Government institution responsible for Islamic Affairs, to conduct 2-day Halal Slaughtering Training on November 28-29 at the PTTC. Malaysia has positioned itself as one of the global Halal industry champions and plays a pivotal role in the expansion of Halal market.
Seminars on Halal Certification Requirements, Islamic Banking & Finance, Islamic Fashion, Halal Tourism, and Business Opportunities in Halal are also offered for free on November 27 alongside the Exhibits of Halal-Certified Food Products & Establishments, Islamic Fashion, and Philippine Accreditation Bureau.
