Course Description

This is the 1st phase of capacity building and step-by-step guidance for MSMEs under the processed food sector in preparing the documentary requirements in applying for License to Operate (LTO) as mandated by Food and Drug Administration.

Course Outline

The course will focus on the following topics:

  1. Basic Food Safety and Quality
  2. Guidelines on current Good Manufacturing Practices based on A.O. 153 s. 2004
  3. Philippine FDA-License to Operate Documentary Requirements
  4. Process Standardization
  5. Product Development


Course Objectives:                 At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Become aware of the Philippine FDA-License to Operate Documentary Requirements
  • Plan ahead their compliance for Philippine FDA-License to Operate Documentary Requirements
  • Consult existing documents such as the organizational chart, duties and responsibilities and other related files.
  • Understand the approaches of current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Prepare draft of Food Safety and Quality Policy according to A.O. 153 s. 2004
