BASIC BUSINESS RECORDING

This course provides an introduction to accounting, within the context of business and business decisions. The participant should obtain basic understanding of the principles and concepts of accounting and basic recording of business transactions that are needed by various users of financial information such as owner, investor, creditors and government regulatory agency. Emphasis is placed on understanding the reasons underlying basic accounting concepts and providing the participants with an adequate background on the recording, classification, and summarization functions of accounting to enable them to appreciate the varied uses of accounting data. This course will incorporate the use of Excel spreadsheet in recording, classifying and summarizing business transactions.
